I first started making and selling Malm's Concentrated Liquid Carnauba wax back in 1979. Over the years I've been asked if I had a paste wax. I did not. When I inquired why a paste, people had various answers. Many believed a paste would last longer than a liquid. Since 1982 I've personally been experimenting with paste waxes. I've created hundreds and hundreds of Carnauba paste wax formulations and tested most other manufacturers brands. Some lasted longer but the gloss was not great, some were glossy but didn't last. Some had poor water beading. Some cause streaking. Some were hard to buff. Others easy to buff but they could not hide scratches sufficiently. Others very hard to apply.
Here are just some of the qualities that each formulation had to be tested for:
- Ease of wax application
- Ease of removal
- Drying time
- Paint color depth improvement
- Ability to fill and hide fine scratches and swirl marks
- Gloss improvement
- Durability and duration of last
- Symmetry and height of water beads - See an example here
All this formulating and testing takes years, especially if you are a perfectionist like I am. If you know Malm's products, you know I don't put any product out that I don't feel is far superior to anything else out there. I always felt that if you give someone a superior product, they will appreciate it and will continue to use it.
Here is the exciting part of all this testing. I finally have a blend of Carnauba waxes in a paste wax formulation that makes me exceptionally happy. It contains more Carnauba then any wax made in the world, bar none!. It meets all of the strict criteria I have set for quality. It can be applied the conventional way. Easily rub it on with a damp foam applicator, let it dry and buff off the slight residue. Or it can be applied in a way that does not require any buffing at all!
Have you ever seen a paste wax that doesn't need buffing? It will last longer than any other paste wax I've tested. Water beading is phenomenal. Last and durability is outstanding.
I've given some samples of this paste in small metal tins to friends, auto
detailers and car dealers that are real sticklers with the way their cars
look. They love it. I am using it on all my own vehicles. Three German cars,
one white and two black and one red American truck. I am very pleased with
results. I am making this paste wax in very small batches. It is available
in strictly limited quantities and hand made to order. It is packaged in an
eight ounce container. Comes with a hand applied label and I'll sign and
number each one. If you'd like to try this new paste wax,
please allow 8 to 10 weeks for delivery.
Here is how the product will be described in advertising when and if it is ever advertised in auto magazines.
